My College Life

Sun Nov 1, 2009, 3:11 PM
Moving down to Southern California has been a change, but nothing dramatic. College is actually not as hard as I thought it would be. I imagined loads of HW and all nighters every night. It might just be the classes I'm taking or maybe because it's freshmen year, but it really isn't too much work if your on task. Although that's extremely hard to do since there's always lively people in my suite.

It's kind of sad that I haven't explored much of san diego yet. The campus is so large and everything I need is pretty close, but I've yet to discover the "hot spots" in san diego. It's definitely nothing like san francisco or berkeley. Culture here is a bit scarce and I miss all of that.

I have to say, college classes are extremely thought provoking. I may be in an art class, but it seems to connect with history and a lot of other subjects. It's like they all intertwine!

Well my major right now is Studio Arts and I'm not planning to change it. I think I'm going to either double major in art history or minor in psychology. I haven't decided what I want to do as a career yet, but I'm leaning towards teaching because I think a great teacher can do a lot for their students. And what's funner than being an art teacher?

Classes: visual arts 1, computer science 3, culture/art/technology 1, intermediate writing 1.

- tips and advice about anything I've said is welcome.

If you "work for cookies" then you have earned a few with your fine gallery. Keep up the creative push, as you are young enough and good enough to really flower into quite the artist.
